Storyboarding.
I took a storyboarding class in school. It was a blast. I was also pretty terrible at it. Like epically bad. I couldn't translate the words to movable, coherent images well enough to make it look correct. By the end of the 16 week semester, I was starting to get it. The images were a bit rough, but my overall skill was starting to come together.
Our last assignment was to make up our own commercial for a breakfast food/item. I was farting around on one of my fav sites Engrish and found Depresso. The original storyboard was static panels with the script to the left of each image, but I decided to make an animatic for it and do all the voices and sound effects. I had a blast doing it.
It's cheesy.
It's fun.
