Well it took me a few days to finally be able to see it. I won’t post spoilers but I will proceed to give my thoughts.
This film is the culmination of a man’s determination to keep his vision for a project he created, with characters that he loves just as much as us nerds in the audience do. Through years of fans pleading and fighting for Snyder’s Cut, his true vision for the film to be completed and released. To redeem the travesty that was the “Josstice League”, or simply to reward the fans who never gave up on Zack even when so many others had.
In the middle of filming the Justice League, Zack’s daughter Autumn chose to take her own life. Devastating the family and causing Zack to request time away from the film to be with his family and grieve. The studio decided to railroad Zack’s dream project and ultimately fire him and proceeded to destroy everything about his movie. They hired a man who butchered the story, characters and created an environment full of sexual and verbal abuse allegations which in the end resulted in a disaster of a film.
A little over a year ago, the fans voices were finally heard. The studio partnered with HBO Max and decided they were going to invest $70M into Zack’s vision and restore what many believed to be the successful adaptation we’d all hoped it could be.
Zack Snyder took no paycheck out of spite perhaps or simply as a sign of confidence that he knew all along what he could do with this film if they’d just believed in him in the first place. Now some can argue they don’t care for Man of Steel or Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice. That’s your choice and I’m merely disagreeing with you because you’re dumb if you don’t like them 😂🤷🏻♂️ (kidding...kind of).
But in the end, what the Snyder Cut proves to be is everything we as fans hoped it would be. Everything. I loved this film. I loved the heart in this movie, the style, the action, the darker more violent tones and everything else you could imagine about it. He knocked this one completely out of the park. The Snyder Cut is a masterpiece. If you disagree so be it, you’d be wrong. But so be it. 🤨🙃
