Either she is too stupid to know that bringing someone to our friends party, as he wears a scarf I gave her as a gift, telling me as I walk into the room, is disrespectful, callous, and hurtful,

or

she set me up for this shock on purpose, which is still all of the above.

Either way, the voice of hope that I'd find valid reason go give it another try is unavoidably dying.

It's all so out of her character. It hurts like a sombitch. If nothing else, at least I wasn't flaunting mine in her face.

Girls, seriously, I do believe she's a good person and doesn't operate malevolently. So why would she do something so stupid / hurtful?
