Currently listening to The Many Faces of Oliver Hart from Eyedea (Rhymesayers Entertainment). I don't think I've had a favorite MC as long as Eyedea's held the title. Kid kills yo!!

Movie Rants: Just got back from KING KONG. Y'know, I'd pin the Best Picture 2005 on it, but that ain't sayin' much; Seems like very little really impresses me. The effects and visual images were mind-blowing here, especially just watching Kong and Naomi Watts interact, but to be honest, I wasn't feelin' Brody, Black, or certain parts of the story. Enh.

Conversely, SYRIANA just made me feel uneducated, uninformed, and unaware. I have absolutely no clue what the hell the story was about, and I directly blame my lack of grasp of current events. Shame on me, I should be better informed. I spend far too much time looking at naked girls online and writing to total strangers. Now I know what Dennis Miller-haters feel like when the joke flies over their heads. To them, I also say "shame on you." You should be smarter. As should I.

This will be the first Christmas I spend in LA, and I've invited my parents to come down and spend a week with me. Lord, what have I done? My place is small enough as it is, and in their older age, I'm finding that my folks are over the Yuletide spirit, which is a bit of a downer, but I'm determined to steer the experience clear of the typical Christmas John Hughes-caliber comedy of family feuding. It'll be me, my folks, and the girl, which will be civilized and enjoyable. I'm just wary of where my folks are gonna bust my balls. In their older age, and in my new role as Holiday Host, isn't that what they're supposed to do?

BTW, Christmas in LA is also really stupid. It's too far from the Spirit of Mankind and ideal White Christmas imagery that I had as a kid growing up with 3 feet of snow through April. Nah, I love this weather here, but when it comes time to break out the Douglas Firs, ornaments, and egg nog, there's no room for Venice Beach, palm trees, or Beverly Hills.

I'm bitching about the weather on this site?!? Ah fuckit, it's typed; leave it out there.

Joined up on Myspace recently, only to track some underground Hip Hop groups and MMA fighters. I honestly don't need another online presence, and it occurred to me how different online communities can be. Hell, even here we've got a myriad of different circles of friends, and nevermind Friendster (ohmigod, that was like so 2003!!!). I've seen a few myspace pages for acquaintances of mine, and I gotta say, even though each site has a diverse mix of people, I do see a rather mainstream trend on that particular site: where musical interests and favorite movies don't go past 3 years ago, the profile is mostly about how cool and flossy one is, and everybody's photos are like rejects from a Gap ad. WTF?!?! Enh, gimme tats and gauges, bands with 2 self-produced CDs to their discography, and journal entries about how great you wanked yourself.

And give me Aspen, Lovely, Neko, Phoenix, a double shot of Monica, and some HeatherAnn for the road. Thank you, ladies.

Yeah that's another shirt I liked. I would get a few of the other ones but like i said, I want one that I can wear on a somewhat regular basis and most of the ones on that site I just can't wear to work ya know?

No unfortunately not. I am flying to Hawaii for Rumble on the Rock, which I'm very excited about, which is why I'm not going to UFC 57. I will be making my best efforts to make it out to UFC 58 as Rich Franklin and a few others I'm close with are fighting on that card. I'll be staying out at Kit Cope's place if you remember him, so we'll all have to hook up if you're making it to that event. I think we're going to be going over to Randy's new school and such, so it should be fun.
