I'm numb right now. Not sure where to start. When is one ever with this kind of thing? It's a tragedy on many levels, despite the fact that people die far too young every day. And despite the fact that I never personally knew this guy.

Many wrestling fans knew a good amount of his personal history, afflictions with drugs and booze, separation from friends and family, his rise to fame and fall from grace. It was as much his comeback as his character and talent in the ring that endeared him to so many fans. He was one of the only reasons I still watched wrestling anymore. So for that reason, I feel loss. Maybe I just choose to. Either way, there's a lot of people out there, total strangers to Eddie and his friends & family, who are going to be greatly saddened by this. I suppose it'll be our way of mourning and celebrating him.

There's a DVD, Eddie Guerrero: Cheating Death, Stealing Life, that came out early last year, which chronicled Eddie's turbulant life, his steller career and his fight with personal demons. It's one of the more personal and inspirational documentaries that the WWE produced, and its continued to be one of my all-time favorites. It really puts wrestlers in a humanizing light, much like BEYOND THE MAT. If you've got a few bucks to spend, it's well worth it.

Thanks for everything, Eddie.
