So a couple of soldiers in my unit now have to donate plasma to pay there rent and utilities. There command wont let them get second jobs and there wives cant work enough because child care is full on base. I want to help them but im limited on what I can do. Being deployed is almost the only anwser because you get paid a lot more. Its very demoralizing to my guys . We wanna serve our country but we can make more at a civilian job doing the same job we do here. Were lucky in that aspect because companies like Raytheon and Boeing recruit us all the time but i still wanna serve ! So anyways that's my dilemma in life right now.

Holy shit that REALLY sucks! I thought living in the barracks is free though?

It is free and if you have a family you can get housing on base if theres a vacancy. Most of the time and in this case its not available, so they get paid for housing but its never enough to cover all the bills.
