I leave for Iraq in Sept. It's finalized, and it is not the job I wanted. I will be a fuckin monkey at a desk. A well paid monkey, but monkey nonetheless.
What's worse is the fear I will not perform to the best of my abilities. That gnawing in my stomach, that I will fuck this up.
I didn't fear if I got shot at, or car bombs, or anything deadly last two times. What I fear the most in my career, my life, my deployments is that I will fail.

I've heard from various military members it can be tough adjusting to civilian life. I'm sure you will do just fine though! That anxiety and fear believe it or not, is what is going to make you successful. Just trust me on this one. You can do it kiddo!
