Well, it's that time again. That lovely time we Brookies call the 72 Hour Hell. I've got an ass load of editing I should be doing right now, but due to all the techincal complications I've had today I just don't feel like it. I went to school at 10am this morning with the Hi8 camera my friend let me borrow so I could transfer some footage from 8mm to MiniDV, but that failed miserably. The camera had some busted heads so every 10 secs the footage would get all wierd, so that about made me ready to scream. Then Ari called, I told her what was going on, and she said her roommate had a camera I could use, score. So Ari brings the camera down and the tape plays fine, only problem is that the battery is damn near dead and there's no power cord in the bag. Anti-Score. So Ari is a doll and runs BACK to Carpenteria, grabs the power cord and drives back. Now there's another problem, there's a power adapter missing. Fuck. So I go home, Ari calls her roommate and tells her to bring down the adapter. It's now 5:30pm and nothing has been accomplished. At 8:30 I run back to school and grab the adapter from Ari, then drive back home. 9:30pm the transferring starts by plugging into the 8mm Cam into a VX2000 MiniDV Cam. 11:00pm All the transferring is done, but there are now multiple people in my home watching movies and talking and asking my advice so I can't get shit done. Probably just going to wake up early, take my Concerta and crack down and edit like a fucking banshee all day, go to school at 6, take my Science final, then come back home and stay up all night editing so I can have the project ready by 3:00pm thursday. Fuckin A, some times I loathe being a film student.
