What is wrong with people? I mean, seriously...
I was driving to work this morning, and all of these cars are either stopped or going really slow on the street that leads to the freeway (i.e. busy as hell). Like everyone else, I slow down to see wtf is going on. There are two dogs, one large brown, the other small and white. Nobody is getting out of their cars to get these dogs back to their owners, which I get, I guess. Fear of dogs, whatever. Possibly rabid, sure, I get it. So, I pull off to the side of the road, put my flashers on, and am about to try to get these dogs when some mother fucker in an SUV comes barreling down the street and runs over the little white dog. Of course, they just keep driving. Probably on a goddamn cell phone or something, I don't know. I just threw my arms in the air, as if to say, "what in the fuck, are you kidding me?!" I walked over to the dog, Willie was the name on his tag, carried him to the side of the road and called his owners. Willie, of course, was dead. The brown dog had ran off by this point. Willie's owners really didn't seem all that concerned, asked, "The white one or the brown one?" When I said the white one, they simply said, "Oh, yeah, the brown one knows how to come back home."
Who is more awful? The owners who don't give a shit about their dog getting hit, or the person that hit the dog and just kept going? Both suck. A lot.
I swear my next post will be more uplifting.
