There have been two news reports in recent weeks that we, as a society, are become loners. The theory is that technology -- email, sites like this one (though there are no real sites like this one!) -- are preventing us from interacting with real people in real time. Add to that the issues related to family breakdown, empty-nesters and other factors that promote isolation and, well, the psychologists are worried about us.
I'm not sure I buy it. There are those who will argue that the Web facilitates interaction and relationships. I'm not sure who's right but I do know I have found some good friends and acquaintances by sitting in front of my computer. That's not to say we shouldn't venture outside the house to pursue those and other relationships but, I see online as a compliment to trraditional relationship-building opportunities.
Not that anyone asked me, of course.

No I won't be coming back to Toga in the fall. I graduated this past May. So I'm in Maine until I figure out if I got the apprentiship at a Morgan horse farm in VT or what place I will be going for farrier work. Fun fun!
