There seems to be only so much joy to go around. Why can't we all be happy at the same time? It's as though we have to share it, then pass it around, forcing each of us -- from time to time -- to wallow in self pity or real pain.

Maybe, just maybe, it's an opportunity for us to be there for our friends, family and colleagues. We have a chance to be giving and supportive, and the good ones take advantage of that chance.

Anyway, I hope my friends here are mostly happy right now. And, if not, it'll show up soon.
