Seeing the SG Burlesque Show in Chicago in a week. Can't wait. My pretty friend Cairo says it's a blast. Looking to hear from others who have seen the show.

So, this is indicative of my life of late. I ordered and have been looking forward to the SG Burlesque Tour DVD for a number of weeks. Finally, it arrived and I was much excited to start my weekend with it. However, within second of taking it out of its wrapper and putting it into the laptop, the DVD drive ate it. It's gone, disappearing...

Morgan and I aren't a couple. wink We come off that way sometimes, and last year everyone thought we girlfriends (and we kind of played along), but no, we're just good friends. smile

Jeez, sorry to hear that your player ate your DVD. I have no idea what you could do to recover it, so I'll just be pissed on your behalf! mad

Perhaps you could call the Geek Squad?
cairo:
Have fun at the show. I wish you could see the band that we saw too (they were called Tsu Shi Ma Mi Re) - the music was fucking AWESOME!!

kiss

Stayed home today; not feeling too hot. But what made me feel a whole lot better was the unlimited and uninterrupted opportunity to check out the SG site and all my favorites.

Ladies and Gentlemen -- we are truly blessed by much beauty.
sydni:
it's a local show. I would love to be on the tour, but such is life.

Life is good: Summer is hanging in there here in the northeast; I heard from my new friend Inphamus1 that she is doing well; and Fallen has added me as a friend.

A good day, for sure. Hope you all are happy and healthy this weekend. Enjoy!

I try not to focus too much on the political realities of this country. Ironic, in that I am involved locally and, last year, worked very hard for John Kerry. But what is happening under the current administration has begun to consume me. It is almost criminal, and seems to be getting worse.

Iraq and Katrina have demonstrated the insensitivity and ineptitude of those in...

I haven't needed a weekend so badly as I do now. Work can be overwhelming. So can the other parts of life. Don't get me wrong -- it's not bad at all. It's just a lot.

There are some people I miss. On the other hand, I reconnected with a very important friend this week. That's good. But life is full of ups and downs....

At the risk of sounding like Andy Rooney, but have you noticed that weekends go too damn fast? Even a bad weekend is usually better than an average Monday. But, hey, only six more days until the next one!
Have a good week all.

Just when you think all people suck, others -- many others -- respond with gourage, generosity and compassion to the tragedy in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. You know, the human race isn't really so awfully bad. We do have our moments.
cairo:
That's true, people don't suck all the time. It's odd with the situation in NOLA, because it seems to be bringing out the best in some people while simultaneously bringing out the worst in others.

Thanks for the comments about my set smile smile In time I will get another one up.

So here's my dilemna. I should celebrate -- in every way -- Labor Day. It is, after all, a recognition of working women and men; the people who we should credit for the quality of life we have in this country. And, for the most part, it has a loose association with organized labor and I have a very strong and proud relationship with unions...

I'm with you. Winter fucking SUCKS.

I sort of celebrated today, if you consider lying around all day celebrating.

I'm not one to fixate on news. I accept it as part of life, absorb it to be informed, and move on because there's usually not much of an impact I can have on it or it on me -- the devastation of Hurricane Katrina and what it's done to thousands of lives has my head spinning. How does something so awful happen to so...

I know what u mean. All my problems seem so trivial when I watch just 5 minutes of the news. How have u been, my friend? It sounds like you've been good . . . hot dates, trips 2 Chicago, makin hot new friends! kiss As for Austin, it's one of my favorite cities in TX. One of the prettiest (lots of trees, hills, and lakes). The weather is nice, too (not as humid as houston). And there's a LOT to do (6th Street=Party Street). Let me know what you're up to.
cairo:
blush Thanks so much for the compliments! blush

All throughout my childhood I wanted to be a writer. I used to devour books at an insane rate (I still do), but these days I don't really have the time to write my own stuff anymore. Someday I'd like to finish a novel, but it's not happening anytime soon. frown

A crazy weekend in Chicago with some of the people I love the most. And, I get back, only to find the lovely Cairo has asked me to be her friend! I am indeed a lucky man.
cairo:
I haven't thought deeply about it yet, mostly because of my brother's involvement in it. If it had been anyone else, it would have been infinitely less disturbing, but as it is, I prefer not to dwell on it just yet.

And of course I friended you. You've been very sweet to me. smile
