So I came home from work today to find that I had the new Avenged Sevenfold CD, I was excited, since it came out today and popped it right in the cd player.
Critical Acclaim is awesome. Not as good as anything off waking the fallen, but since M. Shadows blew out his voice (I know, I know, On the DVD put out a few months ago, they denied him blowing out his voice. But its bs.) The Rev screams in Critical Acclaim and it makes it sooo much better.
Almost Easy is a decently written song but again, nowhere near how good they were back in the Waking the Fallen time.
The rest of the CD is rather bland. Some of the riffs remind me of elevator music.. .while some of the lyrics just make me think of 6th grade poetry (the rhyming is awkward).
Now I did come across one song, A Little Piece Of Heaven, that made me so happy. it sounds like Tim Burton inspired music (nightmare before christmas) and the lyrics are quite funny.

"Must have stabbed her fifty fucking times-I can't believe it-Ripped her heart out right before her eyes- Eyes over easy, Eat it, Eat it, Eat it"

And it sounds Odd to say the least.. but the way he says it makes it that much better.

Alright well i'm finished rambling about this cd.. Disappointed but still happy that one of my favorite bands have come out with another CD and that for once, a unique band is still together. But fuck the music scene anyways, These guys made it big because they were different, now they're going mainstream? ughh whats coming of this world??????
