I really like being able to take my son out with me where ever I go, even at the age of three. Today, we went to a new hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurant up the street and he really had fun without annoying the other patrons--in fact he entertained almost everyone there. He enjoyed the food and ate almost everything on his plate. I ordered some guacamole; when it arrived on the table, he told me that the basket of chips was his and the sauce was mine. I ended up having to ask for every chip I ate.

I took him to see Disney on Ice yesterday, which he really enjoyed the entire production. I found it a bit disturbing since it was a direct plug for visiting Disneyland/world, and combined both the old character set with the Incredibles. However, the some of the skating was impressive. We were also surrounded by toys, sweets, and generally overpriced horrible things ($20 for a snow cone in a plastic cup in the shape of a character's head). that other parents were buying for their kids, and he wanted none of them. He only wanted a soft-pretzel which he shared with me, and his carton of milk. We then went to Whole Foods (they don't have one in Brooklyn yet) and he enjoyed all of the free fruit/snacks.

He's such a fun, sociable kid that seems to charm entire rooms at a time. As the separation/divorce proceeds, I hope he is able to maintain his demeanor.

A friend of mine has a four yr old son who is wonderful. When he was deployed his wife left him, and I tell him that despite the pain look at the Angel that came out of their relationship. That child is so sweet and caring. I don't have any kids myself, but I think it is awesome that you are dedicated to your son, and I'm sure he will keep his sweet demeanor with such a great Dad!
