My mom sent me an e-mail this morning that my grandfather was in the hospital. He had pnemonia, which for his age is probably fairly serious especially since he probably should have gone to the doctor a few weeks ago, but nothing too terribly concerning.

But then my dad gave me call after work. They did a biopsy of the fluid (is biopsy the right word?) in his lungs. They found cancerous cells. Dad said they're "floating" but he didn't seem to know what that means other then it's supposed to be better then them being "attached." I'm just as ignorant.

Mom left earlier this afternoon to be with him.

I don't know what to say. He had a scare with colon cancer a year or two back, and he recovered from that. But if it's in his lungs...
