this weekend was fun!
friday I went with a group of friends to see thrice at the electric factory which is an awesome venue. we all drank a bit in the car so we were good to go by the time we got there. i did get a margarita though. we went down on the floor when thrice came on and we were up pretty close but ed and i had to pee really bad so we gave in and went to the bathroom. so we started out in the back but eventually made it up closer once the pit opened up. they played half older and harder songs and the other half mellow new stuff, which definitely wasn't as fun to jam to. toward the end i guess i was accidentally standing in the middle of the pit and i got punched in the back pretty hard. no worries. we lost our one friend jared...he was sooo wasted. as we were exiting we found his poor hat on the ground, lol. eventually we found him sitting on a curb on the way to the car. with a sprained ankle.
we got back in the car to find that their bottle of vodka had spilled all over the ground. so we get back to DE like 30 seconds from jared's house and we get pulled over. the cop was like 'i could smell the alcohol when you passed my car' which was a lie... anyway he tested ed who was driving and took him outside after checking all of our IDs and revealed that he really pulled him over for the broken light over the license plate. so he let us go cuz we're awesome.
I worked the lunch shift on mother's day..and when i pulled up there was this huge crowd of people outside. i'm like..great its already crazy! but it turns out we had a power outage! shit...so we were out of power for about a half hour then it finally came on. i was greeting my first table and the power went out again! but popped right back on. phew! good thing because i made $100!! that's bank on a lunch shift! i did get stiffed on one tip though..but i think a busser may have stolen it.
last night i went and saw the guy's band at a local dive bar on main street and they were pretty awesome. there was this like 3 year old kid who was break dancing and shit. he was awesome. but i got super drunk..one too many margaritas! so today i've been nursing a killer hangover.
i love the food network. i hate cooking but i love watching professionals do it. its mesmerizing!
same thing with the discovery channel and shows like 'how its made'. fascinating!
