Yes! I have located my Hello Nasty CD! Good times, good times. But now i'm listening to jazz. That's right, jazz. Damn you Ken Burns!

Bix Beiderbeck (fucking cool name) and the Whiteman band are doing "There Ain't No Sweet Man (Worth the Salt of My Tears)" Excellent track, and pretty progressive for the 1920's, i must say...

Poor Bix emulated his idol Louis Armstrong and gained great crossover success but never gained the approval of his minister father and had drunk himself to death by age 29.

Quel dommage skull

I majored in music for a time in college. I remember seeing a picture in my Jazz textbook of Beiderbeck holding his instrument. I guess he was pretty huge at the time, but now he's basically a historical afterthought. A beautiful tragedy. smile frown

i can't remember who it is right now, but i have a friend whose dad is phobic of buttons. damn, it's making my brain work to figure it out. when (if) i do, we should introduce them to each other. gotta be a weird phobia. mine is small metal objects, touching my skin or (the worst) my mouth/teeth/tongue. so yeah, piercings are out. the dentist is mighty unpleasant too, i might add. luckily my brother is my dentist and he numbs up my mouth before doing anything in there.

i dated a boy once who couldn't touch ceramic tile. the sink and the toilet were fine, but he had to wear flipflops in the shower. i feel bad that i thought that was silly, especially since i made him take off his jewelry at the door...

ahh phobias

p.s. i eat with plastic forks/spoons whenever possible
