Ok. I've calmed down now. I haven't been taking my meds lately. Well... you know how some people have 'signatures' after their posts.... short captions or whatever.... yeah, well I'm thinking about having one of those but instead of some lame quote or something, instead having a disclaimer that basically absolves me of responsibly for anything I might say to people while not in possession...

Nothing gives away an a-hole more that being self-consciously it (... or self conscious and public metaphoric masturbation... go blow your load somewhere else scumbag!... )

Heh... sometimes the self-consciously cool can be amusing and fun, as long as it ain't pretentious, you know? I think of a lot of my friends that way. Their self-conscious cool is more of a self-reflexive satire, so it works.

Oops! I almost forgot! I would love to see what you came up with! I'm not very creative when it comes to graphic design, so it's always great to see what everyone else can do.

Found words:
"The Victorian age saw the last great heyday of the corset, when the tinier the female waist, the more attractive a figure was considered. A girl's ambition was to be married before 21, with a waist measurement less than the years of her age."

Sorry I missed out on whatever drama transpired... You've got some interesting taste in your favorites as well. I need to see Stalker, dammit. Haven't gotten around to that or Solaris yet, and I've definitely gotta see that before the remake comes out. Hope Soderbergh can pull it off respectfully. I'm always skeptical about such an endeavour.
hmm,,,,this is something i think about all the time and it continues to leave me frustrated. basically all i have come to figure is that individually we can all do our part and come together in groups in order to make things even a tiny bit better (or sometimes a lot better)... look at organizations like amnesty international or greenpeace.... there are people out there trying and we must support them if we believe in what they do. but that too is hard. does this mean i should support every single environmental group? every free speech group? i don't have endless free time unfortunately.
what it comes down to is being yourself. we all need to act the way we really want to act regardless of public opinion. call me a faggot for supporting gay rights, call me a treehugger for being an environmentalist and a vegetarian. i care not about the public. it is the general public who creates these problems, why should we feel affected by them? we need to look to ourselves and individually make a difference. it may sound like i just blame people and haven't a heart. hopefully you know that isn't true.
love for all,
alex
