I'm not sure if you were or not, I guess not being a fan makes your opinions more valid because you can remove yourself from the situation and look at the pros and cons of the system, how it is now and you know the US system, which imo many other journalists overseas don't really. From your articles I've read, I think our opinions fall over similar lines.

In terms of the US, I'm just pleased they finally are doing the Copa and ending the 10 year absence, and scheduling a friendly IN Sweden is a start to get on the right path.

Yeah, I figured you might have watched United when you were a kid just getting into football, because let's be frank...there aren't too many Dundee United fans that aren't from that area. One of the big things that cemented me with Celtic, other than its illustrious history and how I can identify with that was the access to games every week, something that United never had, and something I believe no major sports team had until they followed that model in the last few years. MLB started broadcasting games over the net, hell even the MLS started this year! I've got every Celtic game now for over five years and its wonderful.

I'd like to see a 16 team top division with relegation and promotion, and what would you think about a playoff somewhat like the championship? Either with the bottom teams of the SPL and top few teams of SPL2 or exactly what the championship has (although I would not promote/relegate 3 in this league, 2 would probably be fine).

If you are in favor of the Dundees merging, how would you feel about the Old Firm heading south? or do you draw the line there?

I've got friends, Celtic fans and not, that are both on different sides there. Some love the idea of the OF leaving so other teams get more of a shot at doing something, some never want to leave Scotland.

I feel a super league type thing is not all too far off in the future, and if it happens I think Celtic need to make the jump to be where the fans want them to be. Obviously, I'm not a Scot, so I don't have the ties thinking they have to stay in Scotland, so I figure that could be a key fact that sways my opinion either way.
strongbhoy:
Celtic and Rangers, but no Dundee. Love it. haha

At this point, I think the Superleague is more likely, as the Sky deal has already been brokered for the EPL, and the door was open even more so a few years ago. There would be ways to rig it so it "could" work, but it'll never happen at this point, even if the money it would bring in would make the league more valuable.

hey, thanks for the link, man! i found a couple of other interesting things there, too. i'll let you know what i think of that Ghengis Tron.

i missed the Melvins when they were through, but the show sounded like it was incredible - dual drummers is always fun to see. i haven't seen those guys since maybe '93 or so back in Des Moines.

well, i hope your recovery keeps moving along steadily so you can get back out in the din. i know how much i would miss it.
rileystclair:
you are very welcome and i'm glad you enjoyed them!

i'm pretty picky about my screamy-hardcore-type music, so if i've got a band in my top ten at any time, rest assured they aren't the newest band with "bleed" in their name trying to rip off norma jean.

back to indian jewelry though--have you had a chance to see them live? it's pretty intense.

I joined OJ's club. What a geek I am.

(Perhaps I should make it clear that it is oJAEflo's club, not the Dingo-wearin' stabby guy.)

You are in good hands with Mr. Brownfield, mi amigo.
Good times.

I heard a little evil tabby gato crying to get out but it ain't gonna happen! Lots of rain here, no snow anymore! Tulips are pushing up in the sala, the crocus are croaking, the Dutchman's Britches are starting to get on the line to bloom. I can't wait until we plant our garden this year. You make a lot of delicious with that little plot.

Come home soon, I miss you so much. And so does your Gato Marcel. He has resorted to meowing to me to pick him up -- he is THAT desparate for you. blush

Antisocial isn't one of my regular haunts but I know the guys that run it and do venture down once in a while.
Do you have the mag? would love to see a scan...

I will watch MLS with an open mind, not just looking for ways to validate my "America-is-inferior-to-the-rest-of-the-world prejudice biggrin " I sincerely hope the quality of the game increases, as it will benefit the sport and the quality of the CONCACAF tournaments. Also, I cannot wait to read your book, seriously smile Take care my friend, stay healthy, tons of love for you and your wife smile

I really liked your article on the WUSA for Fox Sports. I think a rehash of it is pretty much doomed to fail, no matter how you sell it.

Way out East, where the snow is falling.
polonovia:
Lots of it apparently.
josearcadio:
How are you doing??? What contest are you covering?? The Concacaf champions semis?? The USA teams are doing pretty well, they got a tie agains Chivas!! By the way, LA Galaxy and DC United are coming to Puerto Rico to play against the Islanders and I might go, it will be a fun time I hope! Also, are you aware that Puerto Rico might get a second team, for the southern part of the Island, Ponce to be precise and the name of the team is River Plate Puerto Rico, I think...anyway, I hope everything is well with you and Li, tons of love smile

If you wish, come see me DJ at Skylark (S.Haltsed at Cermak) Sunday night from 930-2 am. Celebrate Daylight Savings Time with, uh, well, whatever I decide to play that night. Probably a lot of ridiculous stuff.

I miss you husband!
