UPDATE: PoloNovia's taking a break. She'll be back.
Well, I have been tagged by JoseArcadio so, forthwith:
1) I used to have a rather thick Scottish accent, and if you get me drunk it comes out.
2) I have rather large feet (12-13) for my height (6'0")
3) Despite living in Sox-land, I don't really care for baseball.
4) When I was a kid, my hero was Dennis Lilley, the great bowler (cricket, not PBA, that is)
5) I learned how to read before I could talk and was reading fluently in English, Spanish and French when I was 2. This, apparently, was creepy.
6) My love of comic books comes from Tintin. For those of you who don't know anything about Tintin: Tintin was a newspaper serial comic strip drawn by a Belgian man, Georges Remi, under the nom de plume of Herge. The feature debuted in 1929 and went on to become one of Europe's best-loved and best known serial comic strips. It also inspired the "clean-line" school of illustration, carried on today by folks such as Joost Swarte.
7) I sleep every night with my Snoopy, a 15" stuffed dog given to me by my grandfather. It is actually Snoopy MK V; I-IV wore out. The first Snoopy was actually given to me by Mrs. MacLane, who was my family's "sponsor" when they emigrated here from Scotland. It makes a perfect neck pillow.
8) I dress virtually the same way every day. I also got this from a comic book, When I was first in the USA, I read a Richie Rich comic book that showed how his closet was full of hundreds of outfits that were all identical. I thought this was really neat and practical.
9 )I do not like dogs.
10) I cannot wear watches. I stop them cold, whether they are digital or windups.
11) I am an amateur photographer. I like taking pictures of "ghost" signs (faded out ads on brick, usually) and city life.
12) Because of all the medication I take, I smell "chemically" to most people. I used to smell like a vanilla phosphate (because Depakote smells like vanilla when it breaks down).
13) I cannot give blood.
14) I design posters and do graphic arts work under an assumed name.
15) I do not like crowds; loud noises also bother me. Also, I prefer to be alone or in close company.
16) While I cover sports for a living, I actually don't like many sports.
17) My dream job would be to be a staff writer at the New Yorker.
18) I am currently quite frustrated with my book, and have been having bad headaches.
19) I rarely look at the picture sets on SG.
20) I cannot have children.
So, I tag: Polonovia, cornink, and OhJayFloe
