I've never cared, genuinely cared, about a politician before. I feel like the world has a real leader now.

I feel reassured and hopeful. Inspired. This is a key to Obama's insight - he builds people up instead of torturing them with fear. He empowers them to act, doesn't promise to do it all alone, and expresses his caring. A rare politician if not a rare man.

America has changed, and it's amazing to see. I'm really going to enjoy living in the country next door for the next eight years. I hope that Obama becomes the model for politicians here, and that we find inspiration in a real leader of our own. Hope springs eternal.
