A lot has been going on lately in my life. I am still here in Denver, one month later after leaving hte ranch. I am living in the ghetto and sometimes its kinda scary. It was mostly only scary in my imagination (which gets the best of me sometimes) until the other day when the next door neighbor went to jail.
He went missing and tons of people were knocking on his door and our door looking for him. Soon after his "friends" were staying over at his place. They crawled in thru a broken window. Then over a couple of days it was crazy loud over there at night wtih lots of people screaming and obviously drunk.
I am here alone all night cuz my roomie works the night shift and so its kinda scary. I usually lay very quietly in my bed, im not the type to go outside and yell or call the cops. well... the other night it got soo bad that we ended up calling the cops.
they came, nobody answered hte door... nothign we or they could do.
next morning we call the land lord and say that we heard a few voices and they were being very disruptive. At this time we are setting up for our garage sale. We are getting everything out of the house, hauling lots of stuff outside and trying to move...
so this little asian landlord man comes over and peaks in the broken window and starts yelling for people to get out of the house. He is screaming in this window, then he goes in the front door and chases them out... i count the people as they came out and it was 8 people in there! 8 very scruzzy very scary looking druggie people.
That really shook me up and scared me. I am a small town girl, I have never come in contact with things like this.
so we continue sitting out at this garage sale and these two mexicans came up to the door, it was locked, went ot hte windows that were now boarded up... trying prying them off but oculdnt... so they went to the back door.... smashed the window in and got in and grabbed stuff and ran out.
right while i was sitting there.... then a car pulls up and a guy gets out and starts running to hte front door, which is righ tnext to our front door and steff steps in the way of him and tells him no one is there
and he was like, two dudes just came out of here and we were like they aren't here anymore!
so later that night, we are sitting in her room... fucking scared and we went and borrowed a gun... and we are sitting on her bed and someone comes to the window and is like, dude let me in its kurtis... one of the crackheads from that morning and we are like, go away wrong window we are calling the cops
so ahhhh scary scary.... things have quieted down now that all the windows and doors and boarded up and stuff...
We got rid of lots of stuff. We found someone to sublease the apartment. At the sale i met this old gay man who was telling us "back in the day" stories about dbeing a drag queen.
He is taking the apartment, check off the list.
We talked to our new landlord. Our friend is hooking us up with a place to live on the north shore of st. croix. We like the land lady, she seems really nice. I guess its right by the beach, the resturants and stuff so we wont need to buy a car. I dont want to drive on the other side of the road anyways...
the guy with the horses lives near by, so we can ride horses whenever we want, work just a few days a week and get by alright.
im super excited for this move and to get down there. we are being welcomed and everything is falling into place perfectly like this is meant to happen. so.... good good. steff is super stressed out and we aren't fun people to be around right now. its sucky and so much work and i can understand why more people dont up and move away more often.
yesterday i met a photographer and he was going thru and looking at my pictures and showing me everything i was doing wrong and giving me pointers and its all stuff that i know. and its so frustrating that i dont know more about computers and editting. I know what i want the outcome to be, but its hard for me to express it to my editor with out just doing it myself.
i cant even figure out how to plug in the router, so i am stuck using my friends desk top.
so... if you are someone with an artistic eye that can take my 500 pictures and turn them into 2 sets that are good and the right size and quality and format... ill hand them over cuz im overwhelmed and feeling clueless, and these pictures have so much potential for greatness.
