soooooo....its clear that my intention of being more on top of the whole blogging thing has fallen apart more than a little, even before it really began. go me.

anyways - random thoughts for today; things feel like they are on the brink of picking up for me at the moment (without wanting to jinx it of course) - i've applied for a job/entered into the initial stages of applying for a job that i hope will actually lead into a very viable career, and best of all, will be based predominantly in London. so i shall be keeping my fingers well and truly crossed for that and i ask that those of you reading do the same please!

and on the other side of life matters, i've been talking a lot more with one of the girls i went to Uni with and have hit it off more than we expected; while at uni we didn't really converse or connect but were aware of each other through mutual friends and group work related stuff. but for some reason we started chatting a week or 2 ago and things have gone nicely since then. we're due to meet up early next week for a cheeky drink and see how things are then. should be good.
in other, less serious but no less enjoyable, news - i've been reading far too many issues of the Ultimate Avengers/Secret Avengers and The Winter Solider this week. while the avengers/secret avengers is pretty standard comic book stuff i do urge you all to check out Winter Soldier #1 & #2 because they are truly something special.
a damn fine mix of espionage, cold war era contingency plans, mad soviet scientists, black widow and bucky barnes kicking royal arse....oh and a 800pound gorilla brandishing a .50 cal machine gun.
all in all it pretty much has it all. you will enjoy it - mark my words.
right i'm off to go grab a cuppa, probably read another issue of the avengers and try and avoid the xbox for a bit. i hope you're all doing incredibly well and you find at least one thing today that brings a big, fuck off smile to your faces and generally perks you up
