Leave was fucking amazing... I asked my girl to marry me, rebuilt the fucked up relationship with my parents, and had a blast with my friends. Getting on the plane to come back to Okinawa was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do though. Eleven more months till I get to see my soon(ish) to be wife...
Finally going home next week!! It'll be a year and two months since i've been in the US. I can't wait...

Well, my vacation in Afghanistan is almost over... It went by quick, time flies when you're being shot at I guess. I'm kinda upset that I'm leaving to be honest. There's a lot of work to be done here still.

LOL! Vacation, eh? Never really looked at it that way, sure miss that pay though! Yeah, deployments do go by quick when you're getting swamped with missions. How long were you over there and how much longer till you get back? I think it's needless to say to watch your 6 till you get back. Towards the end you get so comfortable and that's when shit turns sour haha. Take care.

I've been here for about 8ish months. I love it here though. I'd stay longer if I could but they wouldn't extend any of us. Don't have much of a family back home and no girl so there isn't really much of a reason I wouldn't want to stay out here. Beer is the only thing I really miss. We're staying alert though. I'm not smelling the barn yet. Thanks though.
