Yesterday was the company picnic. I volunteered to cook the whole day, but did have relief a few times so I could walk around and play a game or two.

Worst part was the beginning. The grill arrived and we started it up. It was still wet from being cleaned so we turned it on high and closed the lid. A bit later I noticed flames poking out from the right side of the grill. In hindsight I should have realized that meant the gas was being pushed out-that some of the burners had gone out. I opened the left side-saw the burners were out, realized they were still pumping gas out and started leaning back just as it erupted into a giant ball of fire. I had closed my eyes and thank god I wear glasses. I received minor burns, lost most of my right eyebrow, singed down my eyelashes to half size, singed my moustache, goatee, and side of my face, and got a bit of a second degree burn on the tip and underside of my nose. Right after it happened, no one was looking when it did, the odor of burnt hair hung over the picnic site and everyone-after initial concern-started laughing about it. Luckily it was an overcast day so I didn't have to worry about a sunburn as well as the gas burn.

I'm a damn good cook though. Today I'm going over to my aunt's to make Schwenkbraten, german potato salad, and german sauerkraut. Contrary to popular belief, german's don't eat their sauerkraut right out of the can, they dress it up a bit. It's generally sweet with a touch of caraway. YUM!! I'm making myself hungry just thinking about it!!

I forgot to mention, I've been working out. Yeah, ME! Doing some water aerobics, stairmaster, free weights. I'm a dynamo! I might actually start losing weight too. Though my shirts are getting tight in the arms cause me muskels are so biggity. At reast I can dleam.
