It occurred to me about six minutes ago, as I was 'finishing' an assignment that has to be in tomorrow afternoon, that being smart but lazy is not the best combination in the world. Far from it. It means you think you'll be able to wing it in the week before it has to be in, but when it doesn't quite work out that way, you know just enough to realise how shit the finished piece is.
Of course, it does mean I rule at writing evaluations - they tend to take the form of "yeah, the project's shit, but if I could be arsed to do any work, here's what I would have done..."
Apparently, however, "there's no use in worrying about it the night before you hand it in. Just let it go and learn from it." But then, if I haven't learned my lesson at some point over the last 23 years, why should now be any different?!
Now where's that wine.....
