I appear to be getting lazy again. Ah well. Shit happens.
Here's some nice little random thoughts:
Something has really been bugging me lately, but I can't quite figure out what's going on. I don't really like Trivium, but I don't know why. Musically speaking they're great, so I thought it must be all that screaming that puts me off. But then I like In Flames, I like Bullet for my Valentine, along with Killswitch Engage, Slipknot, and so on. So I've been listening to all these bands a hell of a lot to try and work out what it is about Trivium that bugs me. And I'm still drawing a blank.
Speaking of Trivium, me and Colin came up with a nice little social experiment - buy Trivium t-shirts, write 'SUCK' in big letters on the back, walk into Corp on a Monday night and see how long we last against the raging hordes of young metal-heads pissed on 70p vodka. Could be entertaining.
In precisely 2 weeks on Thursday, I'm off to Canada for four weeks (three in Banff, one in Vancouver). It's over three years since I was last there (working in TFM, a music store in Cascade Plaza, for four months) and I really can't wait. I'm especially looking forward to watching Monday Night Football at a sensible time...
Just trying to get money and stuff sorted out at the moment, but it should all be fine.
Interesting side-note: I never saw Kilkenny in England, but the second I landed in Vancouver it was on sale in the airport bar. I then spent the next four months drinking the liquor store's entire stock. And then some. Pretty strange for an Irish beer.
OK so maybe it wasn't that interesting...
'Er indoors has her 21st at the start of September, and since I'm not gonna be here I'm trying to make a big deal out of it. She loves her surprises, so I've told her to buy herself a nice dress but not told her why. She's getting a week's notice of when we're going out, and I'm gonna take her to a posh restaurant and then a nice hotel for the night. Hopefully that'll make up for the fact that I'm not gonna be here on the 5th! (And hopefully she doesn't come to expect that sort of treatment every year
)
I hate my job.
The footie season is just two games old, and already I'm pissed at referees. I am so fucking sick of coming away from a game bitching about the officials - on Saturday at Preston it was bogus red cards and mysteriously disallowed goals in a 0-0 draw, and tonight at Hillsborough we could easily have had four penalties, but instead lost 1-0. It annoys the crap out of me. Just once, I want to leave a match and not have anything to say about the referee. Is that so much to ask for?!

Went for a nice, relaxing, not at all strenuous walk in Castleton last week. Took some lovely photos of the cement factory that for some reason was built right in the middle of a fucking valley.
I have been watching way too much Family Guy recently. Been working my way through all five seasons, and I'm told I quote it too much. If that's even possible. Apparently it's painful. But not half as painful as a tyre iron upside your head.
Mr Daniels is calling me. As are Messrs Coca and Cola.
Dragonforce may well be the greatest band on the face of the planet at this moment in time.
