Anyone in Canada, Japan or the States, do yourselves a favour and book tickets to see Artic Monkeys in the next few months. Great young band from Sheffield (my hometown) currently taking the UK by storm - tickets for a gig at the 900-capacity Leadmill in Sheffield were changing hands for over 400 ($650ish), and I'm lead to believe they could have sold out ten times over. The debut album Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not went on sale this morning, and is destined to be the biggest-selling UK album since Oasis's Definitely Maybe in 1994.
They're like The Streets, only with guitars. And good.
You can listen to a couple of tracks/watch the videos here and check tour dates here. They arrive in the North America in San Fran, followed by gigs in LA, Chicago, Toronto (twice, one with Oasis), Montreal, Boston, NY, Philly, DC and Seattle between the 13th and 29th March.
Changed my profile pic to something less depressing, and it now includes my two favourite things: cigarettes and my guitar
