It has been a really bizarre week. My last blog details some of it. Traumatic, brutal even, grief-ridden, but peaceful in a strange way. Mourning to me is not a time to fall into a blackhole of depression, but instead try to right the wrongs in life, look for the light behind the dark clouds, and take time for reflection and re-evaluation of priorities. Death be viewed as many things, but in a way, it is a gift because it forces people to reconnect with their families, rethink their behavior, and stop thinking about only themselves.

Regardless, life must go on. The services are Monday and Tuesday this week and we'll be having a 2 hour motorcade from the morning services to the burial-- Mon Dieu. Upon my return to Montreal, I will hopefully be able to go right back to work. Next weekend, we're still going to have our housewarming and "oh, shit, we're back in Canada" party, because sitting around doing nothing will accomplish little.

It eats at me a bit, though, because my cousin had been wanting to visit and I kept saying, "Wait until after winter, Montreal has shit weather," and then "we're moving so wait until we're moved in," but, "I'll be gone for 2 month, so come to the house warming in the beginning of summer!" Its true that the timing didn't really work out until now, but ultimately, any weekend would have been ok, even if it had been snowing. I'm not canceling a BBQ with friends to sit and mope.

Life can be terribly fleeting and procrastination is one of the most toxic tendencies people have.

So, let the celebration of life go on! Be strong and overcome grief, loss, and pain. Do not fear death but instead be happy in your LIFE.

I may bend but I will not break.

Love to all.
