THE LUNCH BLOG

So here's a first in a new series for me- the daily documenting of my lunch. Whether made by myself, oot- and- aboot, takeout, or a reheated old can of beans, I will attempt to periodically describe my midday culinary delights.

Today's Order:
Burger, medium, w/ American cheese, hold the pickle, and fries.

Late morning.
Big weekend breakfast of bagel, grits, sausage, eggs, and tasty Darjeeling.
Got three computers going at once.
Snuggling with dogs.
A little music, cleaning, cooking, and watching on my plate.

I love the weekend.

It's that time again friends.

Your favorite Irish balladeer and aprentice chanteyman will be performing this Saturday the 28th at the Thomas Family Winery in Madison Indiana. Expect some old friends to drop by and sit in! The Thomas's offer a variety of delicious wines and cider, as well as the best cheeseplate around, served in a comfortable "old inn" atmosphere. When paired with a...

If you are wondering where I have been, I have been in winter land. We lost power and heat for 8 days. Nothing like taking a shower with ice in the bathtub. I also lost internet for 2 weeks at my office, where I spend most of my online time. But things are back up, we all survived, and I am JUST NOW getting back...

Very nice. I'm a big civil war buff actually. As a nautical man perhaps you have heard of the great Admiral David Porter whom i am accidentally named after.

Giles is so adorable. I love it when he washes his glasses and then puts them back on.

Tasting a new tea this morning. Ha ha! Almost typed tasting a newt...very different. Anyway- today's taste is Malaysian Highlands. Here's what the catalog has to say-

"A very smooth cup with no bitterness, but lots of flavour and depth."

Hardly descriptive.

From the name, I assume this tea is from the Cameron Highlands in peninsular Malaysia. This is a region of hilss and low...

How are you holding up in this weather? Did you get hit hard?

D
d_port:
Hope you're holding up OK. I lucked out and my company sent me to Detroit for a while. The hotel is hardly five star but it's free (to me anyway) and it has heat and electricity. Hopefully by the time I return LG&E will have some of this sorted out.
Best of Luck

Hallo!

My friend luckeyisis started a new group. It's for fans of Christopher Guess and his ensemble movies like Spinal Tap, A Mighty Wind, etc. You should join. It's here: This One Goes to 11

Hope everyone's doing well and getting over the holiday blitz. Soon, I plan to start a tea tasting update and to talk about books I'm reading. Fun, eh?

Why don't...

I'm listening to some lovely music this morning. I have a classical mix on my iPod- Locatelli, Boccherini, Corelli, Mozart...sometimes I wonder how I survived before I discovered Boccherini and Corelli. Great stuff for a quiet early Saturday morning.

Except the room is full of stinky dog fart. We got a new dog a couple of weeks ago- Angus, he's a 10 year old black...

Yeah I have an idea who that might be. There are quite a few guys who are part of our guild who help found other chapters.

Seattle is good, now that the snow has melted and I can leave the house again! smile
