Well, the news seems pretty good on Sadie.

It isn't a tumour. It isn't anything really horrible.
Apparently, she has bla bla poly bla itis whatever the word is.
Her spine from age, arthritis, what have you, has degraded, and the channels her nerves run in are impacting the nerves themselves.

The good news, is if we keep doing what we're doing- walking her daily...

When Sadie is truly uncomfortable...she will let you know.
It's a terrible thing watching your pets get old and sickly, the one thing that sucks about loving pets and animals is knowing that they don't have a very long life span in comparison to us.
Good luck, and like HolaGatita said... maybe get a second opinion..
Derramax is one of the stronger meds for arthritus, if thats not working... there could be something else going on with her..

Hope all goes well and you get some answers!

Hi.

I'm gonna change my profile stuff. You know, name, picture, etc.

There may be someone joining SG who I really don't want to associate with here. He's a "friend" in RL, who i do quite a bit with work wise, and he's a client. Nice guy, I like him, but he.... has some issues..... about his upbringing, mother, sex, etc. and I don't really...

no, you are not being shitty!
after all, SG is kind of like our safe haven...
our community for lack of a better term, and it seems like you share enough time with him off the internet, having to befriend him on here, could be acquaintance overload..
How did you find out he was joining?
or did he just come out and tell you?
Did you act like you never heard of SG? biggrin
Tell Regan i would love to have a reading done!
I never had one done on the internet before...
you'll have to talk me through it of course, and tell me how to go about doing it.
As you know, i can be fairly clueless... tongue

Thanks for the jahful wishes. smile

Have a great weekend everyone!!

I'll be incognito for a couple of days. Our first official annual event is this weekend, at Locust Grove, a lovely 1790 historic home we have here, replete with period furnishings, original outbuildings, bricks made on site, and a working outdoor kitchen on 60 or so original acres.

Also the last home of George Rogers Clark (brother of William...

I grew up in (and still live in) ND. Everything here is Lewis and Clark. whatever Yeah, they contributed a lot to the spread of the country, but I'm tired of having to hear about them everywhere I go, in this state. It really gets old after awhile.

How was the event???? biggrin

Howdy. Happy day after easter. Anyone sow some seeds in the garden? Do a little dance for fertility? No?

Oh well.

I didn't either- went to Regan's extended family gathering, same as we do every easter. It's not bad- they're decent people, there's a lot of them (ten siblings have spawned somewhere in the neighborhood of 38 kids/cousins- very catholic), and the brunch is always...

No, nothing so flash - I'm the senior sergeant of a Free Company - mercenary and proud of it. As to how, well, I started doing a bit of viking back in '89 when I still lived in Britain as a change from Napoleonic which was getting too military and not as much fun. I moved to Germany in January '01, and it took me some time to find a group as the set-up here is a little different - it's mostly medieval markets and no combat. But then I found a group run by another Brit 18 months ago, and life is back to normal ....

WOW! Well I admit I'm not THAT big an aficionado of musicals... that is better left to Adrienne (who is an actress)... but I enjoy them when I see them smile

Yep she's my longest running friend (18 years), whom I still talk to on a regular basis and with whom I still have a lot in common with. She's a riot. She's been in London for the past two or three years trying to get her acting career started (stage acting), but she's not having any luck and her visa ran out so she's coming home this summer and will attempt to get into Stratford. smile

Just a quick one for now.

That meastro of cool, that duke of hip, that guru of whaddup, Dorwayin, just sent me a mix cd. I can only assume it's because he finds my new profile (literally) pic sexy.

Or maybe it's because I sent he and ShellyMC a mix while back and he's reciprocating.

Hmmmmm..... *rests chin in hand* ........ which reason could...

Mmmmmeh....I dunno. She's always got a pretty full schedule, this girl...ever fall for a girl who's ggot a bunch of guy friends that seem to circle her like a shark? It's like...intensely weird.

I've got no urge to be a shark, so I figure I'll just leave for a bit...maybe she'll try and look for me, maybe not. But honestly, I can't take feeling like some sorta...I dunno. Ungodly predator. It's just...so ick!

Hi!
Reflections on your reactions on my answear to that quiz:

1. Debates, mostly. That's why I love it! I can almost always turn it on and listen to something interesting. They can have debates about the most ridculous things but they do it really calm and proper, so it's nice to listen to it. Gives me many new perspectives on politics, culture, society etc

2. biggrin

3. Yeah, right? Because you now, they are really romantic and trashy and it seems like there will be a forever flow of books.

4. It's like, what's the meaning of showering if I'm gonna be all covered in dust in just a little while. I love cleaning the whole apartment till every little part of it sparkles (well...almost) and then go have a bath.

kiss

Mmmmmmm......

Garlic bologna and mayo sandwich, with chips and onion dip. Mmmmmmm.

Sometimes I just loves me some shite. smile

Not much ahppenin today- regan is off for a birthday "tea" with her mom and some aunts.
I'm catching up on the 'puter, a couple of small tasks, a little cleaning, and pondering our taxes.

Fun, eh?

Diggin the springtime. Been listening to lots of doo-wop...

Well if I ever do leave the 'Ham, it's going to have to be for the 'Dres. That's Londres. I come from a wee place originally so I don't want to down-size. For a city of its size, Birmingham really hasn't got as good a night life, public transport system, or variety of shopping opportunities as you might expect. I need a city that exceeds Birmingham in all of these categories. The problem is, I've got no money! And when I say NO money.... frown

Finally, it is sunny and warm today. In fact, it is a completely gorgeous day.
It has really affected my mood today, in a positive manner, despite tax season, client issues, lingering sickness in the family, and the inevitable not quite enough cash to take care of all the bills at one fell swoop for the month.

I am actually looking forward to spending the...

Howdy.

So we've both been sick. At the St Paddys day thing, Regnas mom appeared with the flu, and she passed it to me, Regan, and my dad before leaving early for the hotel.

We felt fine on Saturday, when we went to see "Mrs Henderson Presents", a supposed comedy with Judi Dench, Bob Hoskins, and Christopher Guest about a British society woman who is...

by the way, thankyou for making "dystopia" from my journal word of the day! Haha, it was nice because you sort of sounded like you appreciated my intelligence by that little comment... which is good because a few people around these parts recently have been suggesting that I'm... well... stupid whatever

Yo, I've applied to be the Volunteer Co-Ordinator for this year's Artsfest. (Birmingham's smaller-scale equivalent of the Edinburgh fringe.) So I'd be recruiting and training all the volunteers who work the festival. It's just a 6 month role, but that's the absolute limit I can take. biggrin

Let's try this again.

Dorwayin gave me some good advce, which, as usual, I am not currently following. So hopefully I won't screw up again and delete THIS post too.

*sigh*

As it's now almost the weekend again, let me describe to you LAST weekend.

Friday was St Patricks Day. Being the person Scots Irish descent that I am, not to mention the Smithwick's drinker,...
