I am all about living in the past- always have been. Just the way I'm made, i suppose.
Today it is delicious.
WFPK, our local Triple A public radio music station, has been playing this "80's" thing all day. Lots of great stuff- the vapors, the cure, etc.
They just played Boys Don't Cry, one of my all time favs.
I have so many memories associated with this song, and that Cure compilation, Staring at the Sea. Laughing in friends cars, crying in the lonely hours of the night, drinking and smoking at parties, chasing goth girls before they were "goth", driving, driving, driving, playing music in Abhay's room stoned and drunk out of our heads, the delay on my guitar mingling with the crash of his cymbals into a unified wall of noise....

I wanna say thanks to all my friends who explained all this new shit to me in my last post. We don't talk enough, but you guys rock.

Speaking of Rock, we watched Chjris Rock Bring the Pain last night. His first big breakout HBO special from 96- that man kills me with funny. Bright, topical, intelligent stuff that kicks my ass with funny.
So- what's that song that does it for you? Brings up all the good times and bad, all those seminal moments?
