Yes. It's an update.


Finally.

I kinda don't know where to begin. But SG has finally responded to my group request. No. As I suspected. Blydden and I have been trying to get a reenactors group together, for serious living historians. Of course, their answer said there's already a group that matches what we want to do, or they think it doesn't match the site. Well, we know there's no group already, merely the Faire Folk for Ren fair people. I suspect it just isn't something they're interested in. Seems a shame really- with all the people on the site who reenact or role play, or who would like to do living history. I guess groups like "fuckie pants" and such are more the party line.

Oh well.

I am getting so disgusted by my fellow countrymen. And the women too.
In national news: Our government spies on us, using the NSA and FBI to listen to our phone conversations, tap our emails, and monitor our internet usage. Will secret neighbourhood informers be next? Where is the Gestapo and the SS? We have our own little Himmler in Alberto Gonzales, his predecessor Ashcroft, and their cronies who want to remake our Kultur in their own image. Where is the outrage? Where are the street protests? Where is the steady surge ofm public outcry? Must we endure ANOTHER McCarthy era, with even more fundamental freedoms eroded and displaced? And apparently the average American's reaction is that who needs privacy anyway? If you object to government snooping, you MUST be guilty of something. I quote "the giving up of privacy is today's new patriotic sacrifice, akin to rationing in WWII" and also "I'd rather be alive and have no privacy from the government than dead and free." Apparently we have forgotten why our country exists. All those hundreds of thousands of Americans, soldiers, civilians, bondspeople, children, who died so that we would have a government THAT DID NOT intrude upon our lives have been wasted. The "shining beacon" that is America- not our power, our military, our companies or economy- our belief in freedom and opportunity- has been dashed. the terrorists have succeeded after all. They have cowed us into demolishing the very things that made us who we were- not our "homeland", but our cherished freedoms that made the American experiment a worthwhile endeavour.

They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.

Fully 50% of this country then deserves neither, as that is the number that would willingly sacrifice their liberty to remain "safe" from a terrorist.
Of course, the terrorist is 99% unlikely to harm any specific American. The ones who need watching are the "3000 tyrants" who are homegrown who rule over our daily lives, who use our tax dollars to perpetuate their agenda of intolerance, hate, fear, and greed.

I am so ill from the constant bombardment of news I may be sick. It eats at me.

Hmm.... Yep. Our country sucks monkey nuts, these days. I'm constantly hearing from foreign exchange students and people on SG from other countries about how fucking crazy our administration is, and how Bush is going to destroy the world. ...I don't doubt it in the least. robot
