Howdy. Happy day after easter. Anyone sow some seeds in the garden? Do a little dance for fertility? No?

Oh well.

I didn't either- went to Regan's extended family gathering, same as we do every easter. It's not bad- they're decent people, there's a lot of them (ten siblings have spawned somewhere in the neighborhood of 38 kids/cousins- very catholic), and the brunch is always delicious.

If you like egg casserole and pork.

Eggs, sausage and ham, eggs, sausage and ham- I'm starting to hear a "spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, spam spammitty spam, spammitty spam in the ackground- and if you're lucky ONE bowl of fruitsalad.

but hey- there's not an egg or piece of sausage yet that i have been afraid of. smile

So after the protein packing, we came home, shed the nice clothes, and proceeded to have a lovely sunday afternoon- a little grass cutting, computering, watching the vid, reading- and dreaming of the deck I want to build.

It looks like, in order to do some of the things on the house we want and NEED to do, we're going to have to cash in the current retirement and possibly refinance the house.

Sounds dumb, I know. Particularly for a guy in my line of work. But we need to get out of debt finally, and the house absolutely must be gotten into some sort of order, so that we can sell it in a couple of years and move to where we want to be.

Neither of us knows where that is yet but it includes a 2 story house with basement and at least 20 acres. But we have a long way to go yet. And in order to do that, "retirement" needs to take a back seat.

In current news, I have stayed home today to try and finish our taxes. Eesh.
We have so many deductions and crap it takes forever- I started 2 weeks ago. granted I haven't done any since the 3 hours I devoted then, but man- not that i am complaining- I'd rather have them than not, but the TEDIUM...

Anyway, it's been kinda nice. The day has gotten beautiful again, after some rain and clouds this morning, there's a lovely breeze coming in, and I've been in my boxers and a sweatshirt all day.

I also plan on getting drunk tonight.

At least tipsy.
Here's my drink.

No, nothing so flash - I'm the senior sergeant of a Free Company - mercenary and proud of it. As to how, well, I started doing a bit of viking back in '89 when I still lived in Britain as a change from Napoleonic which was getting too military and not as much fun. I moved to Germany in January '01, and it took me some time to find a group as the set-up here is a little different - it's mostly medieval markets and no combat. But then I found a group run by another Brit 18 months ago, and life is back to normal ....

WOW! Well I admit I'm not THAT big an aficionado of musicals... that is better left to Adrienne (who is an actress)... but I enjoy them when I see them smile

Yep she's my longest running friend (18 years), whom I still talk to on a regular basis and with whom I still have a lot in common with. She's a riot. She's been in London for the past two or three years trying to get her acting career started (stage acting), but she's not having any luck and her visa ran out so she's coming home this summer and will attempt to get into Stratford. smile
