I had Boba, or bubble tea, for the first time this weekend, yesterday to be exact. What weird ass shit.
Regan had it in London over the holidays, and raved about it until we got some boba stuff in the mail. 6 freakin pounds of boba stuff.
For the uninitiated, boba is sweetened iced tea with milk in it. Fine so far right? Well, then add a couple ounces of slippery gelatinus eyeball squnchy black tapioca balls, that you suck up with a "thick" straw, until you gag and milky tea and black squidge flies ut your nose making your neighbours scream thinking you are dying or hemoraghic fever or the plague.
Sounds great right?
Heh.
We are hosting a baby shower for a friend in Pittsburgh next weekend (long story- but hope to visit Ft Pitt!! Pics later!!), who wants it to be Halloween themed. So we're putting 3lbs of boba in the punch. Yea! 3lbs left for us!! *puke*
Really, it's not bad. here's a pic after it's cooked- (yes, it's starchy little balls you have to boil for a f$#@ing hour in 8 times it's volume of water. Took a freaking age yesterday)

Yummy. Fish eyes.
Gah, It's been a log time since i updated. Even for me.
So here goes- I've actually been up to a lot.
So I had one of the best weekends ever. We had absolutely NO WHERE we had to go. So Friday, which regan usually has off, we hung out in the morning, lounged a bit, cuddled, etc. I came to work, did the 3 things I had to do, and went back home. That night, we went to Wally World (which i normally try to avoid like the plague- don't get me started on my buy local rant) to look for a movie to buy. I wanted the Indiana Jones box set, which of course in their infinite wisdom they had decided not to carry any longer, so instead we got MIRRORMASK, which is awesome, and NAPOLEON DYNAMITE. I think we came out ok. We watched napoleon Dynamite, had a lovely dinner, and it was enough.
Saturday, we lounged, computerized for a while and then had to make a run to the vet. Our last remaining "original" dog, Sadie, who is getting painfully old has an ear infection that was looknig really bad. So up we went, and for $112 we got some antibiotics, special ear drops, and a shot of anti inflammatory. Yeesh.
They also recommended some Celebrex like arthritis medicene for her, which they were out of. We'll probably do it- her poor hips are so bad, particulalry when it is cold and /or wet, she can hardly stand up.
here's Sadie:

When we got back, we went for a gloriously long walk, stopping to talk to our neighbour on his tractor for a while, and someone else came by who knows our neighbour, and they got talking about fishing. Apparently this guy just caught a bunch of fresh "sauger" (fish apparently), and we've had a craving for fried fish ever since. Gonna get some tonight I hope. So you can picture this- Old guy in his Carhart overalls on his John Deere in the middle of the raod, us leaning against the tractor, while fish dude is sitting in his truck next to us pointed the other direction, while they talk for fifteen minutes about fishing. Not one car came by to interupt us.
I love the country.
When we got home, the boys had gotten into a fight and slobbered all over each other, also doing some minor damage. Thank god none of the other dogs interfered. it could have been ugly. The boys have been sore and downcast ever since. They are getting some antibiotics just in case. here's the boys:

We relaxed in good company the rest of the night, computering, watching South Park and Star Trek (original), and reading. Lovely
Sunday started off great, lounging about in bed.
Had a little breakfast, some computering, a lovely brunch of waffles with syrup and whipped cream, scrambled eggs with basil feta, and thick cut bacon. Yum. Some more Star Trek. lots of guitar- i am practicing for my St Paddy's day gig at the Irish Rover Too. That's right- i have to provide 3 hours of rollicking Irish music to drink to. Yippee!!
Basically lounged all day- took another walk, etc.
My favorite kind of weekend.
So before i continue on much longer, I'll leave you with this question-
What do you prefer, brunch or dinner?
If you could have your wildest dream, where would this ultimate meal take place, with whom, and under what circumstances
I love bubble tea, but making the tapioca balls is far too much work for me, so I just go out to get it. I really want to see Mirrormask.
