So I get to go have some fun today.
Today is our reenactment groups holiday party.
Lots of drink, goog food, good company, music, etc. We hold it at a county park that has a cabin on it we rent- big fireplace, loft for crashing, etc.
Should be a good time. Only downside- R can't go- she's stuck at a lreally crappy craft bazaar all day.
In preparation I am making a dish called treacle-dowdy. It's a tradiotional English suet-pudding. really yummy. Treacle of course is the precursor to molasses. I am using a 18th century recipe, which I've used before. A little hard sauce or lemon curd with it- damn!! Good stuff.
I'll eat a little for you guys...

You obviously have good taste in food and booze.
The treacle dowdy sounds rather tasty....if not a diabetics worst nightmare.
And you have an iguana as well.
we see quite a few of them at our clinic.
But yeah, like yourself....i'm into the cuddly animals more so than reptiles, fish or birds.

We just got back from the wake a little while ago. Damn....they are not only depressing, but you always feel so awkward and fidgety at them too.
If i had my own home, id probably have a menagerie of animals myself.
But with an apt. four cats is enough.
Your wife sounds wonderful by the way
And i can relate to sometimes taking for granted the good things that are in my life.
Thus the reason for my sappy journal entry which is a little out of character for me
