As usual, my excitement about something is tempered with anxiety.
I have been enjoying Rev War reenacting for 3 years now. Enjoying is probably too weak a word. But I can't think of a better for now. Anyway, I anticipate events like they are the only thing keeping me sane sometimes. But this year has been different- rifts in the group, low attendance and turnout, poor quality events, etc. They have always satisified a number of parts of me- the love of history, the period rush, my love of camping, being outside and having a gfood time with friends, getting drunk and singing songs around a campfire, etc. But the persoanl shit has been getting me down.
This weekend is the last event of the year, at Locust Grove in Louisville. By all rights, i should be excited. it's one of my very favorite places in the world, lots of friends will be there, it's a very full event, etc.
But the last time we were there, in the Spring, the shit came down with one of the founders of the unit, and I guess i am a little worried that it might happen again.
I really hope it is a fun, good weekend.

I am currently sick, and feeling extremely sorry for myself.
At least i had taken this week off from work, so hopefully i will have this virus gone from my system by the time i have to go back to work.
