*WHEW*

It's been a while since I posted, or responded to others. Sorry!!
I have been really busy the last coupla weeks, particulary at work, and we only have one measly dial-up line at home. Regan likes to post on her LJ even more than I on here, and sometimes it's difficult to get internet time.

Yeah yeah. I know. Excuses excuses.

So what have...

What's with people tagging me? I don't do memes. tongue

So the election. Yeah. Let's put it this way: your President called our Prime Minister Elect to congratulate him on his win. I don't recall hearing that he did the same for the previous Prime Ministers. Yuck.

I'm home. Actually at work. But you know what I mean. I have been out of the loop so long, i hope I'm able to catch up on all the comments and journals that I missed!

Thanks to everybody who wished us well regarding the passing of Regans Step Grandma. The Visitation,Mass, interrment, and wake were all good. lots of family, etc. and she lived...

Lotsa people seem to like Turd Sandwiches. I'll never understand it. Also, watching American news coverage of the Canadian election (on the Daily Show and elsewhere) is the weirdest thing ever.

The TV's really promoting voting right now. We don't have cable, but I've got it on one of the free channels (I can barely see it and the sound is awful) and they're going through the history of the different groups who fought for the right to vote.

Gah.
Today was pretty grueling.
Up at 6am, off to the visitation, mass, interment, then wake (whee! All on one day and consecutively!) then home to clean the house and load the car.
We left home at 7:40, arrived in North Bend, OH at 9:10, arrived home at 6:00pm, and it was 8:30 before dinner and onty Python for a break.
had to clean, becuase...

Yesterday.

We had spent about 3 days wrangling with Regan's mom about when we were coming up this last weekend. R's sister is in from Boston until the 20th, and we wanted to see her again before she went back.
Add on top of that that her mom is psycho about family stuff, considering she never seemed to care about family at all until she...

So I've been tagged.
By the lovely, and wicked wicked wicked ShellyMC.

So here 'tis.

1. As *nsync would say, God must have spent a little more time on you. What, exactly, did God spend more time on?

If I were to believe in a sentient uberbeing called "God", he/she/it would have spent extra time on: Regan whose intelligence, wit, and vitality are extraordinary-...

Ha, thanks for noticing-no I'm not leaving the site. tongue I just assume no one reads them and I kind of like my own (I read profiles, though) to be quick and professional. None of this sappy filler.

Ok, I just saw Brokeback Mountain tonight so I'm recommending it. It was pretty stellar. eeek

And oh yes, Nanny and Pop update will come soon....I should be visiting this month. biggrin

I can't seem to go out and do things I "used" to do- go to bars for bands, shows, etc.- without hours of self examination to go along with it.
Usually not very pretty self examination either.
My self confidence and self image are shot to shit.
Most of it has to do with not knowing who i am aymore, if i ever really did-...

I think it's time for the the fullout Christmas run down. As I now have the 5 hours it will take. wink

Friday: Christmas Eve Eve.
Regan always has Fridays off, so I took this one off too so we could get ready for the next couple of days. We spent the day gathering gifts, watching John Stewart "Indecision 2004", packing all the baked goods Regan...

Hi smile Thanks for your comments.

I like my scar too smile My set was taken by Oryx, and it didn't get accepted, I suspect, because the theme had already been done. But I will try again (I hope, if they let me take another with Oryx)

My reenactment pictures are actually at Niagara on the Lake at Fort George this past summer. I worked at Fort York, a Toronto historic site, as a member of the squad. We drilled and demoed at our Fort all summer and then took part in a reenactment and then a drill competition at Fort George. But basically we just raised and lowered the Union Jack flag every day and demonstrated light infantry and cannon firing for the tourists.

Are you a reenacter? I notice you're from Kentucky... so from your picture I gather you are more involved in civil war reenactment...?

Anyway, thanks again for all your comments... and don't feel too bad about having shorter legs then me... I tower over everyone lol

So. Here's a meme I stole from Morgan and merry

1. What did you do in 2005 that you'd never done before?
Went sailing.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Ha!
And while I will make them, I fully intend to not keep them.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Various friends of...

Wow, you don't know where I live, do you? wink

In Cape Breton a lot of people still speak Gaelic and there are very few Acadians anywhere in Nova Scotia. Most of the Acadie are here in New Brunswick, which is why it's the only officially bilingual province in Canada.
dorwayin:
The snow plows deposit all the snow in the corner of the parking lot where I work. I carved out a couple paths and jumps said giant mound. easy 20 ft high. So I was snowboarding down this mound. I tried to do a nice trick and I buried the nose. Down I went. I thought I had my roll down well but when I was rolling on my left shoulder, I felt a crack crack in my chest from the pressure of the fall. I layed down for a bit to catch my breath. I got back up and proceeded to pull off that trick a couple times without error.
Well the next day I was in some serious pain. the days following, it got worse. So I went to the hospital and had an xray done. broke one rib in two places. one near the sternum and one closer to my back and cracked the one under it. It was the 5th and 6th rib form the bottom left. Ouch. I then realized that I am infact getting old.
That said, they put that snow mound back this year and I will try again, and hopefully not hurt myself.
