So we've both been sick. At the St Paddys day thing, Regnas mom appeared with the flu, and she passed it to me, Regan, and my dad before leaving early for the hotel.
We felt fine on Saturday, when we went to see "Mrs Henderson Presents", a supposed comedy with Judi Dench, Bob Hoskins, and Christopher Guest about a British society woman who is... Read More
by the way, thankyou for making "dystopia" from my journal word of the day! Haha, it was nice because you sort of sounded like you appreciated my intelligence by that little comment... which is good because a few people around these parts recently have been suggesting that I'm... well... stupid
Yo, I've applied to be the Volunteer Co-Ordinator for this year's Artsfest. (Birmingham's smaller-scale equivalent of the Edinburgh fringe.) So I'd be recruiting and training all the volunteers who work the festival. It's just a 6 month role, but that's the absolute limit I can take.
Eh...my thoughts are just random little missives into the wind, I think...like the crazy guy on a barstool. I'm always there, just sorta ramblin' away...ah well!
Y'know, it's funny...but when you think about casualties...or people killed...it's easier by far to think of them as just people, and not people that we've made associations with. Like, if you're not emotionally invested in them...they cease to have a particular meaning in your life. I gues that can be another take on what I"m talking about...
...admittedly, you can never think too much about that stuff. There exist filters in order to process that kind of information so that nobody goes nuts...and that's most likely a good thing
The sexual revolution and the act of Union are not related in any way, you silly billy.
I was refering to the fact that I had to read about the evolution of the birth control pill and the emergence of homosexuality into the public sphere, AND THEN start writing a paper about the Act of Union between Scotland and England in the year 1707. Such exciting stuff, really.
Aaahhhh... at last, i can post again. Sorry I've been so "absent" lately- the last couple of weeks have been insanely busy, with something to do every evening and work so hectic I have no time for my favorite place and people.
Y'all know who you are.
So anyway, I have yet to answer the questions regarding Pittsburgh, the psycho social worker, bubble punch, pirates,... Read More
I forgot a couple of things.
I had Boba, or bubble tea, for the first time this weekend, yesterday to be exact. What weird ass shit.
Regan had it in London over the holidays, and raved about it until we got some boba stuff in the mail. 6 freakin pounds of boba stuff.
For the uninitiated, boba is sweetened iced tea with milk in it.... Read More
Listening to Interpol at the moment- Turn on the Bright Lights.
I've always liked this disc, but I don't listen to it that often. It never reaches out and grabs me- certain parts kinda do, but not the whole.
1. Seven things to do before I die:

5) visit Ireland, Scotland, NewZealand, Australia, France, Spain, the Med, and the Carib
6) live every day as if... Read More
It's an Atom Egoyan film...
Mia Kirshner is in it.
It's not great, but very interesting none the less.
Very hard to describe or explain, so check it out on IMDB.
As i suck at giving a decent synopsis.
Did Concrete Blonde do the song "Joey"? If so, I like her voice too!
Like you and Shelly, I can't juggle either, and I also can watch Run Lola Run over and over. Everybody Knows was in Natural Born Killers too, the Leonard Cohen version. I've seen Pump Up the Volume several times but it's been YEARS, and I don't remember the Concrete Blonde version. Okay, I will attempt my tag now.
I made an old woman cry today.
Sometimes life sucks.
Sometimes I hate myself even when I know I am doing the right thing.
Here's my get to know you answers.
Cuz I promised.
1. I almost forgot broadcast tv exists until the Olympics came alng again. I love tv shows- but on dvd where I can watch what i... Read More
welll....... i thought maybe you meant when you were a wee little Lanreg!
I had a lazy laid back kind of weekend....
it was too cold to go out and do anything, besides..
Cold + Shelly= unmotivated
However, i did take a hike to Trader Joes on Saturday, and for some reason that store makes me giddy!
But D and I got nothing accomplished on sunday... well...very little anyway.
I guess we went into hibernation mode.
Sounds like you guys had fun though!
If i lived anywhere near you, i'd be down with hanging out and drinking!
There aren't even any cool pubs/bars in this area.
Sooo.... you are a fan of the cheese as well?
What are some of your favorite kinds?
So i made a wise decision for once!
I didn't know if i should get that one or the makers brand...
i heard they were both good
I'm off to work soon..
bleh.
Have a good day
I took down the holiday cubicle decorations a couple of weeks ago, but left up the cow border. I only just took down my advent calendar in my apartment, though!
I haven't gotten any word on acceptance. Guess I'm not gonna. I have also tried to put my directory listing into another category, got a message that it would be "reviewed", and haven't heard anything else there either.
That sounds so cozy! I'm jealous of your cozy little day you have going... or had going.
I'm not doing anything much different from what I wrote... other than the boy and I going over to my dad's for a birthday dinner later tonight. We're saving the partying for the concert we're going to in Rochester in a month.
And re. submitting things here... I tried to create a "tall girl" group, but I got denied. I don't really understand their rhyme or reason, since there used to be a tall girl group but it disappeared. I still say they throw darts to decide things.
Keep me updated if you see it...
because some days i don't check out the stories.
As i'm to busy checking out naked chicks and responding to comments...
Have a good day!
and....
i so don't want to go to work!
