Canada, seriously you have too many amazingly sexy and smart women. Give one to me when I move back into you. Please?
Alright that's out of the way. For those of you who were too shy to answer my musical challenge here are the answers along with personal commentary.. I'm kind of sad no one took a shot at it...especially those of you who live in Canada. Since, well after DJing there for the last year most of the music I listen to is Canadian hence I think about half of this list is Canadian artists, despite the fact that they were chosen semi-randomly AKA the song had to have writable lyrics, be semi-indie, and not be a song I was embarrassed to admit I owned.
1. Lightsabre Cocksucking Blues, McLusky
-I blame my old music coordinator for that one. Someone was always playing it at the station.
2. Hardwire, Metric
-This is my absolute favorite Metric song. Though there are a lot of good Metric songs. What does everyone's consensus on the MSTRKRFT remix of Monster Hospital?
P.S. And no I don't get boners thinking about Emily Haines though I was dared to hit on her while she was in for an interview by my programing manager.
3.Sailing Seas, Abandoned Pools
-Maybe not Canadian but they rock when I'm kind of depressed.
4. Cut The Crap, Alice In Videoland
-Don't know too much about them they were just one of those bands that sent a CD to the old radio station I worked at and I liked them enough to rip it.
5.Glow Worm, Apples In Stereo
-Am I allowed to say that I got turned onto Apples In Stereo by listening to the Powerpuff Girls soundtrack.
6. Say, Cat Power
-I listen to a LOT of Cat Power when I'm depressed. Oh I don't get boners thinking of Cat Power either though I DO think she's damn sexy.
7.Black History Month, Death From Above 1979
-DFA 1979 are definitely one of favorite bands just rock out to. I'm sad I never got to see them live.
8. Mega C, Fischerspooner
-When I first got this CD years and years ago it took me a couple of listens to figure out what she was singing about.
9. YFLMD, Giant Drag
-I started listening to Giant Drag purely because of the poster they sent us. I kept listening because they're damn good. Oh yeah and Annie Hardy does make my kickers tight at times.
10. Playgirl, Ladytron
Another solid band. Nothing else that I can say. And no, no boners here...sickos.
11. Shine A Light, Wolf Parade
-Because really there are so many band that have emerged this year that are called Wolf something.
Bonus: The Parts Of The Brain, Pinky and The Brain
-Because I love Pinky and The Brain. They're probably one the best parts of my childhood.
For those who don't care about the music stuff start reading here.
Nothing really exciting has happened since I last updated. So here's a brief update on my life.
I registered for this year's college classes and got all of that fun nonsense out of the way. It's fun trying to register for classes when someone's kid is chewing on your chair's armrest. I was actually kind of amused at the sight.
The only friend who actually calls me randomly took off somewhere to assumably do lots of drugs and have sex with random people (I'm completely serious about that) and hasn't been heard from in good week. This may be a good thing since she was starting to get on my nerves.
I of course still need a good woman to love and care about.
Currently I'm thinking of moving to Toronto.
Tomorrow I'm going to the wedding of a friend of mine.
