A little Donovan for ya, heavily tipped in existentialist thought. "Happiness Runs". Speaking of existentialism and surrealism and of course Nihlism, i really like the movie I <3 Huckabees. If you've not seen it, do. Ir's funny in it's own right but i've been studying philosophy for many years. The way they visualize everything is grand. I keep on remembering just how unreal everything around me is. I don't suggest getting no sleep for three days and then reading Sartre till dawn. Unless you want a brain trip. So nevermind TRY IT.
The family was nice. Only got to see my sister for a day, which was sad. Got to spend some time with my older brother tho. He got fired from his job and is in counseling at the moment. He has a drinking problem, as my father did. A good thing about that though, the crushing depression of the families problems starting from a young age made me who i am today. So that sucked, but oh well i guess it went well enough for me. The only side effect is a strong dislike of authority, and an addiction to 80s goth rock. Dunno. Mom was very well though, got to work in the garden with her. Drank alot of herbal tea and talked to her about everything. And of course got to play with the dogs, Jaspar takes up the entire bed when he sleeps with me. Fos such a relatively small dog, he takes up alot of everything. I also got to hear my conservative catholic grandfather talk about how the bible is filled with errors, genesis is a parable for evolution, and espouse pseudo-socialist doctrine. It was very bizarre. For a man so conservative morally, he's damned well a leftist in all other ways. So oh well, he will think what he wants.

You should check out No Exit by sarte if you haven't read it already, an existentialist play, it's pretty short, but a damn good read.
