I decided, a thread post wouldn't do, for this Woman crush Wednesday. The beauteous, @STARSTUFF_, deserves the utmost honor & attention for her exploits. First of all, I'm so proud of her, because she just received her degree, with honors!!!!! - And, while she, no doubt, submitted it, long before, right after we heard of her academic triumph, her set, "Tiffany" hit MR, in which she inhabits Audrey Hepburn's character, in "Breakfast at Tiffany's".

Breakfast at Tiffany's came out in 1961. I was a mature 4 years old, at the time. It is really impossible for people, today to imagine what social life was like then. The only "social media", were your mailbox (SNAIL MAIL!) & your telephone. (didn't take pictures or messages - didn't play games or videos - only had one ring tone) Mine was attached to the wall. - The studio system was still working, then. Film studios & Record companies meticulously crafted the images of their stars. And carefully timed the release of their material, to give them the utmost advantage. And there was no Twitter, where a megalomaniacal moron could call them "Horse Face".

Belgian born, Audrey made her first appearance, as a stewardess, in an educational film, in 1948. By 1961, she was already, a Hollywood star. But her comic turn (a real stretch, for the shy, Hepburn) became her signature role. She was forever , the elegant girl next door, with a gamine frame, big expressive eyes, & skin, as pale as alabaster.

I had to bite my lip, to keep from crying, when I saw that glorious black girl, from Louisiana, sporting Audrey's upsweep do, that little silver tiara, and the "little black dress", the movie made famous. There she was, as winning & sophisticated as Hepburn - But, that delicious brown skin gave her a greater glow! Her elegant body, and too perfect breasts, which Hepburn could never have even dreamed of, signal that Holly Golightly has been recast for a new generation!

As Audrey Hepburn was the icon of an older, whiter generation, Starstuff_ is the harbinger of a new age! As much as Trump troglydites want to make the U.S. & the world, white, the tide that will wash them away, with the rest of the shit, is bringing in a new humanity, which is largely, black, latino, Asian, & mixed race. And it is BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!! The "ME TOO" movement was not just about the criminally inappropriate behavior of men. It is the beginning of a new age, when women claim their power, & leadership. And, women claim their own standard of beauty - be they young, old, transsexual, lesbian, bi, pale, dark, thin, thick, or any other manifestation of the human family. Thank you dear Starstuff_ for showing us the future!!!!!!!!
