PADLOCKED HOPEFULS

I believe in everybody's right to, at least try to preserve as much of your privacy as you can, on the internet. Having said that, I have discovered an interesting phenomenon, of late. There are Hopefuls, with sets in MR, who, when I go to follow them, because I like their set, I find a little green padlock, barring my way. They want to approve all followers. I know some members who do that. I have requested to follow them. But, I find Hopefuls who do it, very odd ducks, indeed.

Again, I completely respect your right to do this. There may be any number of good reasons for it. Perhaps, you are being stalked by some one. Perhaps, your family or S.O. don't yet know what you're doing. But, I would suggest that, once you are an official hopeful with a photo set in MR, not only is the cat out of the bag, he's pissed on the bag, & dragged it off to the woods! And you are asking me to cooperate in putting you in an even more visible position, with even more demands attached. What if you go pink, & SG asks you to represent them, at your home town tattoo convention? What if they want to put you in an SG movie on Showtime? You want me to be complicit in taking away what little privacy you have left, & yet, you make it clear, you really don't want to know me.

The internet is full of creeps. I have no doubt that some SG members are creeps. But a Hopeful who doesn't want me to follow her is assuming I am a creep, until I prove otherwise. Short of a background check, or a polygraph exam, I don't know what I could possibly do to show, I am worthy to follow you. By the time you get this high up, you ought to know there are creeps, & how to handle them. You can always block a member who bothers you. But, instead you, essentially block all members whom you don't know. You are telling me, "I am building a wall, to keep people like you out, but I want you to vote for me anyway." Who does that? (Oh, him)

Today, I have started telling padlocked Hopefuls, "Too bad, you don't welcome followers. If I can't follow you, I can't vote for you." Ironically, one of the models I sent this message to, actually "liked" my telling her, I can't vote for her. Who pays so little attention to what others say? (Oh, him)

hahaha i love your logic and wording :) completely agree.  I definitely understand you.  I've been blocked before and still am but because of emotional reasons and I knew the girl outside of SG and we just didnt work out in a relationship and pissed each other off and hurt each other (So that's understandable!).   I don't view myself as a stalker though even though that set person might think i am because i'm not on here anymore for her as much as i'd like to be her friend again one day :).  Hell, I don't even use SG to "Perve or get myself off" (as much as im tempted too at times lol, This isn't a porn site it's art and self expression and I genuinely like "most" of the community i've had the pleasure of conversing with so far :D... and what can i say I just LOVE alternative women and i'm here to support so i fully agree with your post I've come across some the same.  Even some people who i've sent a simple general question to and they choose to ignore it for no reason, but.. hey that is the internet for you.. alot of people don't care.  Which does raise your set point do they want to be an SG and do they have what it should take to be one ??  In my first few weeks on here i was quite lost and I did not really understand the true nature of what SG was.. But i think it's a beautiful site and love its members, hopefuls and sgs.  I try my best to get along with everyone :).  Maybe the padlock does have it's benefits for what the particular model wants to "achieve" out of sg.  At the end of the day,  I guess it's good they have a comfortable option to have it, for whatever circumstances they are facing in life :D.  I've always enjoyed your input and the way you've commented on the site :)  Your a true gentleman!

Whoa, buddy. I wouldn't take it personally. Perhaps these girls have dealt with stalkers in the past, and post blogs or photos for their followers only - not for the general public. Perhaps you should try leaving comments on their posts or interacting with them, and they can get to know you and decide if they want you following them. Back in the day, we had "friends" not "followers" - and you had to approve your friends. SG wants our models to feel comfortable, and safe - so we give them the option to make their profile public or not.
