it's new tattoo day! i'm stoked to be getting this ink for several reasons. first and foremost, i'm addicted to being tattooed, i just love it.

but second, this is for a very, very special friend of mine. when his new record came out in the spring, i remember sitting in the van and talking to him about it. he asked me, "so which is your favorite track off the new album?" and i told him. then i asked what tracks they'd be playing off of it and he told me, "just the singles." bummer, but i didn't expect to hear my fave.

standing right on front of the stage later, and he calla out to the crowd, "we wanna play a new song for you."

...mine. he actually substituted my favorite song for the title track. and i lost it.

i think i actually txted him while he was still on stage "you don't know how lucky you're getting tonight." hahaha

so here i sit, waiting to commemorate the night we fell in love with a tattoo of his lyrics on the rib under my left breast.
