So, apparently I'm an amazing reader. A friend of mine and I are taking the same philosophy classes this semester (a seminar on Heidegger's "Being and Time" and an aesthetics course that has, so far, covered Sibley, Danto, Isenberg, and Mothersill, if you're interested), and on each of her papers I've somehow illuminated something that she completely missed while doing the reading and writing.
And in my second semester of college I had someone say pretty much the same thing - that I'm an excellent reader and I understand philosophy extremely well. She said something like "when you talk about what we're reading, it's like reading the guys themselves. There's just something in their voice that makes sense, and your voice has it, you make sense."
Not to brag. It just made me smile. It's a nice feeling to have someone say you're good at something.
