From the Department of Eagles mailing list...

Hello all,

Once again, a note from the Department of Eagles mailing list, a
publication with one simple mission: pretend we know how to promote a
record. To that end, the news. Our first and only album is being
released in the UK and Europe at large on this very day. In America,
that record is called "The Whitey on the Moon UK LP." Across the
Atlantic, it is called "The Cold Nose." So, in short, if you live in
Europe, we urge you to seek out "The Cold Nose" and purchase it,
either from a store, from your local Amazon.com affiliate, or direct
from the label at www.melodic.co.uk. If you're stateside, we urge you
to go abroad, spread American goodwill, visit Big Ben, make use of the
VAT refund and, while you're at it, pick up a copy of "The Cold Nose."

In other news, it looks like we'll be recording our second album in
late December/early January. So far, we have only one song that uses
a sample. Hopefully, we'll get the whole shebang done in a couple of
months and have it out Fall 2006.

Hope everyone is well,
Department of Eagles

P.S. If you don't want to receive these things, send a thing.

If you haven't had the pleasure of hearing these guys yet, I highly recommend them. They're far and away the best band I've ever heard from the internet. Their website can be found at http://www.departmentofeagles.com .

Some songs I endorse:

Sailing by Night (The first song you should hear. It pretty much encompasses what they're all about.)

Noam Chomsky Spring Break 2002 (I have an idea for a film noir-style music video for this one.)

Ghost in Summer Clothes (I always have this song stuck in my head during sunrises.)

The Horse You Ride (The epic masterpiece. The way she says "hi." at the end damn near kills me. This time 'round it sounds so choice.)
