Molly Crabapple's art show last night at Karma was a total blast! I think it was a good turnout, at least I had NO prob finding good conversation amongst the Mols other friends and fans; (my only complaint was that the lighting was sooooo dim it was difficult to see the detail in Molly's drawings). As I was leaving the event Molly seemed extremely happy - a fistful of cash from selling some drawings and some happy/lucky chap ready for his 'kiss'... the reward for being the first purchaser... then I went to a party at the home of Hungarian art dealer Janos Aranyi on Grammercy Park North - this was another dreamy affair with a food spread fit for ancient Olympus - fine art from many different centuries EVERYWHERE - some on the walls, but most leaned up in piles along the walls, like you'd line up folding chairs... then I cabbed it back to Williamsburg and one of the singers from ixion burlesque came by the loft at 2:00am. We rehearsed an old song called "Down Among the Shelter Palms" and at 3:00 - went live on Joe Franklin's 'Memory Lane' radio show on WOR radio (710am 50,000 watts futha fucka) - we performed the song. did all that really happen? now I have to put on a tux and play a party full of x-Andy Warhol croonies on Park Ave... I think I'll go for the vintagey look again.
