i feel so out of touch with whats considered cool in terms of music, films, books etc

i used to consider myself quite well read, and a person who sort out different bands and films than what the rest of the country did. i believed i was part of the minority.

now when i hear about all the stuff my friends are into and they talk about lars von trier or some random dutch auteurs films or a band from southern texas who write lyrics to their songs using a tombola. i sit and stare blankly like a dog who has been shown a card trick...
