Sorry I've been lax with the updateslately, I've had a lot of ballls in the air. However I learned today that my client will be dismissed from the trial I've been on in Cook County, so the stress level is down.
Work
The Senate Judiciary Committee tabled the bil that would put me out of business and won't revisit it until the 12th. The lobbyists all tell me that it will not pass, but we'll see. The whole thing caused a bunch of us to beat the bushes for new business, and I actually got some new clients. So if it doesn't pass it's extra cash and if it does it's a bridge to build on.
The Date
Wednesday's date went well, and we've been talking lots sine then. She was gone this weekend and I have plans for the next, so we're going out again this week. We'll see. We've been playing hit and miss with each other for a year or two now, so I'm not getting too excited. Yet.
Life
Is good or at least good enough. I love my job and heave great friends so I guess I shouldn't bitch. Feeling trapped lately, like I work to pay for stuff I don't need and buy stuff I don't need as a reward for working so much, but i'm sure it will pass.

What firm are you with? I actually ended up liking Corporations a hell of a lot more than I thought I would. I have no interest in going into a big pay corporate job right now, but I figure that after a few years of public defense, it might be more appealing (at least money wise...especially if I ever get married and/or have a kid, which seems like the least likely thing in the post-breakup-world).
