My brother finally comes back from the east coast this week. Though he is my youngest brother, he is the one that I have the most in common with. Though only nineteen, he's blazing his trail in the world and I know it'll only be a few short years before we lose him to the east coast, and his career, permanently. While I'm certainly happy that he has the chance to do something he's always loved and make a living at it (something that's eluded me entirely), there's a selfish part of me that would like him to find something more ordinary so that his visits with family don't consist of five or six times a year for only two to three days at a time.

I bought him a membership to SG. He's pretty hip on issues of politics and news stories so I figured he'd get a lot of use out of the news and culture sections. If not, well, naked chicks are always a pretty good stand-by.

In other news, I almost conquered Manhunt. I've been playing that game since last Xmas, periodically abandoning it out of frustration.

It was last month that I arrived at a point near the end when I accidentally saved over the game that I'd been playing up until then. Turned out it wasn't such a bad thing because I'd made a couple of mistakes along the way that were compounded by my continued playing. I went back over it, got it right, and in a marathon run both yesterday and today (the bags under my eyes could probably hold most if not all of Imelda Marcos' shoes) I managed to get within eyesight of the end. And then just as I put the finishing touches on the very last enemy...it froze.

It is times like these when I am reminded of just why I hate video games. mad

I can't imagine seeing my brother only a few times a year. I only get to see him a few times a month and that sucks. So. Sorry to hear about that.

Oddly, I was going to get Manhunt for my brother for Christmas. I went another way, though.
